It’s ironic when a subscriber sends an “unsubscribe” email in response to an email where I don’t pitch a thing! What’s up with that?

You would think that when I send a 53 page report and 8 minute video that didn’t require a dime in return and was designed to help others wouldn’t be a trigger for wanting off my list.

Similarly, why would someone send me a nasty, rude, ungrateful email when I, again, sent something free that I took my personal time to put together so that my subscribers would not have to do it themselves?! Why send me a complaint?

If I came to your home and delivered a home-cooked meal that took me a couple of hours to prepare, would you dare find something to complain about? Who cares if the beans were not salted the way you would salt them. You wouldn’t be so ungrateful as to actually let me know, would you? Of course not.

But somehow, and for some unknown reason, there are people on this earth who would!

Why would a subscriber send me a rude email criticizing me for wanting “help” from my subscribers? In that email, I expressed that I wanted to recover an unexpected and large chunk of money that I had to spend on emergency things, so I was going to have a sale. Well ONE guy thought it would be acceptable to send me a reply saying that “if you don’t have the money to pay for _____ then it doesn’t say much about your teaching skills”. Huh?

First, it has nothing to do with teaching skills. Second, I didn’t say I didn’t have the money. I said I wanted to recover the money already spent. And third, businesses have sales for various reasons all of the time. Why would an online business be any different?

Most of all, why would someone choose to “bash” me on this? I wouldn’t dare send someone a similar email that had a similar situation. We all have times when we need help and have unexpected financial set backs, regardless of our level of income. Right? Obviously, he mis-translated my email. But even if what he accused me of were actually true. What would be the point of sending me a critical email? What does he have to gain from this?

There’s always “one” (or two or three) in the crowd who strives to make others feel bad so they can feel good. And when you deal with the public in any format, unfortunately, these “knuckle-heads” are going to crawl out from their rock and make themselves known to you.

The best approach is to ignore and remove! I’ve kicked several off my list for being unnecessarily rude. These people will never be successful at anything. I don’t want to be associated with them. Would you?

The good news is.. these people are the minority. The bad news is.. it’s these people who are the ones who seem to have the energy to contact you.

In my entire life of being in the public, one thing has always been true. More times than not, the people who like you and appreciate you will not take time to tell you. Sad, but true.

A good example is the 53 page report and video I recently put together (that I mentioned earlier). I slaved over that for a couple of weeks and put most things in my business on hold to put it together. I requested feedback/comments twice in the PDF. And how many have actually taken time to leave comments (out of 10,000 who I sent it to)? Two! Yep, only 2. Sigh!

On the other hand, those who do not like you or what you have to say seem to be more than happy to go out of their way to let you know.

Something’s wrong with that picture!

Ok, that’s my ”beef” with subscribers who go wrong! No cheese or mayonnaise, or ketchup. Just mustard, lettuce and tomato. Just a fat-free rant

I know you don’t know me, but I really need some help. I’ve tried everything I know of and I’m just getting farther in debt.

I’ve been scammed more times than I care to talk about. I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve spent quite a bit of money buying products and courses that I haven’t seen any results from.

I’m not lazy. I don’t mind working hard. I just don’t know WHAT to do or who to believe anymore. So many have made promises and claims and yet I’m sitting here nearly bankrupt with my spouse mad at me and threatening to leave.

I just need someone to help me understand what to do. I’m not stupid. I just need someone to point me in the right direction and help me make sense of all of this information that I’m getting in my emails and in all the courses I’ve bought.

I don’t care about riches and fame – I just want to get ahead, to make a living for my family and myself. I’m not greedy, but I want to start making money instead of always spending it!

Do you offer any kind of personal coaching where I can ask questions and we can work together to grow MY business? I’ll be glad to pay for HELP, but I don’t want another internet marketing course.

Can you help me?

Sincerely,

In a “going green” campaign, the Internet will actually shut down at midnight tonight for a full 24 hours in a global effort to save energy. Kind of like the thing on Saturday where major cities turned off their lights for one hour around the nation.

Did you ever have someone come up to you when you’re getting your way about something, and they say to you, “You think it’s your birthday or something?”

Well, today, I get to say “Yes!”, by golly. So I have an official “license” to do what ever I want, right?

Today, I turn 45 years old. Or should I say 45 years young. I’m not middle-aged yet. Or am I? Seriously, I guess it’s all relative. What’s the average life for a man these days? 80? 85? 90?

That seems about right. But if I’m accurate, then let me do the math. Ugh. If I take the age of 90, then 45 is middle aged. Darn.

Except for the chiropractor visit every month, the strange hairs popping in strange places out of the blue, short term memory loss, appreciation for the rocking chairs at the Cracker Barrel restaurant, getting reminiscent when hearing an old country song (when country wasn’t cool), and trying to explain to my 10 year old what an LP is…

..I really don’t FEEL old yet.

However, I think that the fact that I even know what Parachute pants are qualifies me as an “old fogie” LOL!

Funny how time flies isn’t it?

Speaking of time, I have a 10 year old daughter. I always heard how they “grow so quickly”. But we never have a clue what that means until we have our own, do we?

You grow up fast when you have a child. You suddenly find yourself putting away old habits when it’s no longer yourself that you answer to. Things that used to be important or part of your single life just aren’t important anymore. You have someone to be an example for now. Someone who relies on you to mold them into a respectable and wise human being. There’s no great gift or challenge, nor a greater joy. It’s the BEST part of growing older. Getting to watch them grow, experience, react, act, laugh, love, learn, etc is better than anything that we can ever experience.

I’m digressing. But getting older can’t be discussed without talking about our children. It’s the one Gift that we can find joy in no matter what our age.

Well, I’m in the mood for an Olive Garden birthday dinner. Unfortunately, my family lives 4 hours away, so I can’t just meet everyone in 15 minutes time. So I’ll take myself out to dinner tonight.

Hmmm. Now that proves I’m getting older.

You don’t see teenagers or kids in their 20’s going out to eat by themselves. It’s just not cool. I’ve been there… a LONG time ago. LOL

But as I get older, I just don’t find myself being concerned as much.

For example, I would never have been caught wearing jeans that had a “wide leg”, or “bell bottom”. It was straight-leg Levi’s for me when I was growing up. I though the “bell bottom” was a hippie thing.

Well, here I am in my 30’s (ok, 40’s), and I’ve relaxed my fashion apprehension a bit.

I’ll wear the boot cut jeans. I’ve even wear the “crinkle” wash. Guess I’m trying to keep a “cool” persona. Hey, we don’t have to look older just because we’re getting older do we?

I say No. But unless I decide to drop my pride and show my face purchasing Just For Men, I’m afraid the grey hairs are going to win the war on how old I LOOK.

Yep, I have another grey hair or two. Or 3. Ok, maybe a lot more than 3. But I’m not admitting to more than 2

Happy birthday to me!

Dave “It’s my birthday and I’ll cry if I want to” Lovelace

P.S. See? There’s more proof. Who else, but someone (at least) in their 40s would remember the lyrics to that old song by Lesley Gore. Uh..

wait.. it’s Party, not Birthday. Darn it! Memory loss. I’m definately getting old!!

You may recall that I wrote to you about The 20/20 Challenge, but perhaps rather than jumping on it, you wisely wanted to wait for some proof of the program’s success.

Well that’s fair enough… so what did happen to some of those folks who took The 20/20 Challenge?

Well, just over 20 days later and Michael Green has started to receive the first crop of successful 20/20 Challenge feedback. Like this from Sarah Coates in Concord, New Hampshire:

“Michael, boy was that fun. I took your 20/20 Challenge seriously and feel like I’ve really put my back into it, but 20 Days later and I’ve achieved my dream of earning enough money online not to have to work the day job anymore. Thank goodness” Thank you – Sarah Coates, Concord, NH, USA.

Or this from John Speck in San Fransisco…

“$20k in 20 days? I’ve just done it and then some Thanks Michael. I never really thought it would be possible, but you’ve (or perhaps that is I’ve) proved myself wrong. I’m very grateful.” John Speck, San Fran, USA.

Michael tells me that the messages just keep flowing in and best of all, these people can take what they’ve learned and do the very same thing next month if they choose.

Now how’s that for power earning?

I recommend that you see if there’s a copy of The 20/20 Challenge still available for you

Yours for success,
David Lovelace

P.S.
